German ‘oompah’ bands, roving musicians and entertainers, on-stage comps and sideshow games are just some of the exciting entertainment options you can expect to see at Oktoberfest Newcastle!
Hofbräss
Hofbräss are a Melbourne based brass quintet that plays a mix of traditional Bavarian music and pop songs arranged in an ‘Oom pah pah’ beer drinking style. These guys know how to party, and will be front and centre at the Oktoberfest Newcastle.
Frank Charles Band
There is no substitute for experience, and Frank is one in a million! The band has been playing Oktoberfest anthems for as long as they can remember, and will open up the inaugural event in traditional fashion. Keep your eye out for Frank’s chicken dance!
Hay Bax
Fresh onto the Sydney scene this acoustic duo features the sounds of Jason Baclig on the guitar, harmonica and vocals mixed with Lachlan Hay on the Cajon. From soft chilled numbers to rocking out some big songs these guys are the perfect match up.
Stein Race
A German tradition where contestants will race with two fists full of filled beer steins. The winner is determined not only by the best time, but by the amount of beer left in the steins at the finish line.
Miss Oktoberfest
Winning the prestigious Miss Oktoberfest is about more than just looks, Fräuleins will also go head to head in a stein holding competition, Oktoberfest quiz and pretzel eating race!
Beer Barrel Roll
Participants roll an empty wooden barrel around a marked course. The contestant with the fastest time wins, however be careful, as points are deducted for losing control of the barrel!
Bratwurst Bonanza
How many bratwurst can you eat in 90 seconds? This is not a competition for the faint hearted, as Oktoberfest’s biggest appetites battle it out on stage at Oktoberfest Newcastle.
